Passwords on mine appear to be hexadecimal with a max length of 8. So
it's a 32-bit integer.
I looked into cracking it very briefly. I even pulled and read in the
PROMs a while back. I don't think at the time I could make any sense
of it but I didn't try very hard. I believe it has another PROM and I
don't have a PLCC adapter so I gave up on it temporarily. (~2 years
ago)
Meanwhile, seeing that I'm not in a rush, I've been trying to brute
force it. Almost at 0xFFFFFF, at which point I'll have to quit. The
only password I've found is ADD, which gave me 30 days access to the
3270 client, obviously for demonstration purposes. :(
