Oh, they may be the best of a bad lot; I'm familiar with only a very
few others, and the ones I'm familiar enough with to compare the
software view of are all integrated into something larger, such as the
7750 SCIF or the MicroVAX-II console.
Ahh, the DC319. I sure would like to find a few tubes of those lying
around. I've never heard of the 7750, what is it?
The absence of anything better - even if that's
what it is - doesn't
make them good, except possibly in a relative sense.
You're certainly entitled to your opinion. As I've said, I've used
that chip quite a bit, and I like it a lot. Yes, it's work to use, but
this line of work isn't for the faint of heart to begin with.
