The early manuals for the Univac 1108 were like that--done on a drum
printer with a fuzzy ribbon that clearly hadn't been maintained. The
wavy lines would give you a headache. The binders were pretty good,
OTOH.
Many S/360 manuals look as if they were done on a Selectric
typewriter. At least they were legible.
