Subject: It makes me cry!
I just talked to one of my recyclers in WI; they destroyed all their
"monster
machines" last month, including 6' DEC
cabinets, Cray servers, Big Blue
IBM
cabinets, etc. He promises he will save them in the
future, IF I can
promise
that someone will take them for more than scrap
value.
So, if you can take LARGE old servers from WI, please let me know. They
will
palletize properly for shipping. R2 certified
recycler, so these must
stay in US,
I tried to find out more about R2 certification and this statement that
items cannot be exported. From the little I have seen, I can't see anything
that says exporting is banned. Certainly, this page does not say you can't:
http://www.epa.gov/osw/conserve/materials/ecycling/certification.htm. What
is particularly interesting is the statement here:
http://www.epa.gov/osw/conserve/materials/ecycling/docs/e-wasteregs.pdf that
"equipment for potential reuse is not waste".
Can anyone point to the definitive statement of what R2 certification
requires from a recycler?
Not that I could ever have space, or afford the shipping, for the items
mentioned above :-(
Regards
Rob
and there will be paperwork to be filled out, since
these will be sold
untested.
