Not my Linux picture.  My fileserver has been a 400MB installation of a
commercial distro because I never bothered to install all the graphical
stuff (not needed on a fileserver).  And distributions like gentoo let
you easily build your own.  Gentoo comes as a <32MB image that boots and
then starts compiling itself, sucking down sources as necessary.
