Yes, because they came up with a much better algorithm to determine
relevance of web pages.

Altavista! The mother of all Web search engines. I used it a lot
back in its days. A shame that it went down the drain with DEC...
I don't
think it did, it was sold and abandoned just in front of the
steam roller that is google, very sad...
