Yes, but how common are LT contact breakers these days? Heck, most modenr
cars over here have a coil-per-plug (or at least a coil for every pair of
plugs, with a 'weated spark' occuring at a plug in a cylinder at the top
of the exhaust stroke), so no distributor at all.
That said, the workshop manaul I've just picked up (for a 1972 Rover P6)
refers to the component as the capacitor.
