Basement of the Smithsonian American History Museum.
AWESOME

So how does one gain admission to the basement? I
assume all this cool
stuff is not open to the general public?
Nope, it is open to the public.
The museum is built into a slope; one entrance faces the mall,
the other is one floor up and faces away from the mall,
so if you come in thru the upper entrance, you might tend to think
of the lower floor as a basement.
The Electromatic they have under glass there clinched my suspicions
about the origins of the Friden Flexowriter; it looks very much like
an SPS, although with one heck of a paint job. I confirmed the
connection with the marvellous Stan Kelly-Bootle.
