Is there a way to tell visually if they are DS vs SS?
Not all the
For 8" disks, yes. The index hole is in a different place (not very
different, but noticeable if you have the disks next to each other) on
the 2 types.
You could compare your unknown disks with the ones you know to figure out
what they are.
