That leaves you in the position of having to find MCA cards and ADF
files for any that you might purchase. Not to mention special floppy
and hard drives, should they fail.
I like boxes that can be loaded with more than one operating system and
have a mixture of expansion slot types. Some of the Socket 7 boards are
really good. My favorite for this type of work is an ASUS P5A with a
K6-2 CPU. Accepts larger IDE disks, can run BSD, Windows and DOS just
fine and ISA cards are still relatively plentiful.
But that's me--and my needs are probably very different from the
original poster's.
