The problem is that even if your UART can (it's only 31250 baud) then
there is no ratio that divides cleanly to give that and other "normal"
ratios.
I made a MIDI card for the PC by replacing the clock generator with one
that *did* divide correctly, and subsequently made another that does
62500 baud for the internal comms bus in my ESQ-1, when the screen
broke. The software to interpret the control codes was a whole other
story though...
