  What we really need are decent front panels for modern machines.  Pity
 the LED activity would be too damn fast for it to be usable. :-( 
The sort of "front panel" that would be most useful on a modern machine
would be some sort of dot-matrix display showing stuff like various kinds
of load metrics.
