Hi,
DEC field service veterans will know this: what exactly is the
memory upgrade needed in the PDP11/03 console computer for the
VAX 11/780 that makes it suitable for the VAX 11/785? I want
to be able to search for such boards, so would need to know
which it would be. Appreciate if you have an Mxxxx-AB number
(e.g., M8044-DF ?)
Thank you so much!

I believe you just need to bump the memory to 24kw... from IIRC 16 or
was it 20...
I don't think it cared how many memory boards you used. The original
machines used 4mb of memory on the LSI-11 cpu board... I think they had
either 12 or 16k added on the later ones used the half height LSI/2
boards with memory on a different board.
The 11/785 required more memory for the console diagnostics and boot and
more wcs on the 11/785...
