The music programs for the CDC 160 series, IBM
1620, and others
worked well with AM radios, some machines did better on FM (depends
on shielding and clock speed). Some systems (eg. CDC 1604, upper and
lower 3000, etc.) used the console speaker for better fidelity.
Do you have any information about music programs for the 1620? (The
Computer Museum History Center is restoring their 1620. I wonder if it will
be ready by VCF 3.0?)

Sure wish I did; my most vivid memories are of a suite of classical
pieces I heard on a 1620 at Carleton College (Northfield, MN) including
a polyphonic Brandenberg #3.
