A while ago, someone related a story to me about the
solid ink sticks
for the Phasers. At the time, Tek were making the solid ink blocks from
natural products, and they reckoned that they were completely harmless

executive picks up a solid ink block......
And eats it.
The whole damn thing.
I googled for pix - some of those blocks are larger than a bar of soap!
From what I was told, half of the audience looked on
in absolute
incredulity, while the other half were contemplating calling an
ambulance for the guy... The story I was told has a happy ending -- the
executive survived with no ill effects.
Does anyone know if there's any truth behind this story?
It's mentioned on Wikipedia, so it's obviously a "well known" story
(the article mentions a vegetable oil base). Substantiation, though,
is another matter.
I'm curious too.
