Well, the inner diameter of the braid and the outer diameter of the
centre conductor stays *almost* the same right through the connector.
Mechanically it's as close as possible to a straight bit of wire.

think "F" connectors are truly the worst.
Horrible mechaniclaly, but I am told the RF performance is not that bad.
I've not tested it, though.
