When I moved from a terminal to a PC connected as a
terminal, I thought I'd
gone to heaven. I don't miss terminals at all.
All I can say is that I've had so many buygy PC terminal emulators that
I'm darn glad to haev the real terminals still in operation. I remember
one so-called VT100 emulator for Windows (this would be about 10 years
ago) that gaev a very interesting display when used with EDT on a VMS box...
When I was doing my Ph.D. I kept an old VT100 running (I had the
prints...) simply because it was a lot more reliable (in terms of getting
the emulation right) than any PC product.
