One thing that I did not get with the machine was the
HPIB cable to
connect it to the 9121 disk drive unit (which may need a bit of
attention). [...] Are these cables hard to find?
If they're the same as the HP-IB cables I have to go with my HP
9000/300 machines (and peripherals, such as 7958 disks), I have more
than I'm likely to need and wouldn't mind popping one in the post to
you; I can't imagine it would cost all that much, even crossing the
pond. (I don't know to what extent HP-IB is HP-IB is HP-IB. I know
SCSI, for example, uses at least half a dozen mechanically incompatible
external connectors; I'd hate to get your hopes up only to find the
cable I'd sent doesn't work for you.)
