You guys have access to some neat equipment, including brains.
I would just suggest, however, that ANY image is better than no image. In
the early days of my slide rule site, I actually photocopied slide rules,
then faxed the photocopy to myself (a computer-fax receiving), converted the
fax file to a GIF, and posted onsite. Needless to say, the quality was
terrible... but where there's a will, there's a way. It was a neat solution
to having absolutely NO hardware which "should" enable me to get an image on
the web.
A converted, faxed, photocopy isn't much, but it's still a picture, and a
picture tells 1000 words :)
Scanned polaroids would be just fine by me!
