I think part of the bad reputation of Zips and Jaz's stemmed from people using them
for storage, rather than transfer.
I often use Zips to quickly get things from one machine to the next. But I'd no more
trust them for storage than I would a floppy. Yet, at the time, forums were full of
stories along the lines of, "I stuck the cartridge in the drive and lo! All my work I
did last spring was gone!"
