Hi,
....at least a dozen of these at Redstone Arsenal. They
were used
to program the "stable table" of the Redstone missile. I believe
they were also used on some of the early NASA shots that used the
Redstone as a first stage booster.
That sounds like the first few, sub-orbital, project Mercuy shots (including
the first two manned fights). They used the Redstone as a temporary measure
while they worked the bugs out of the Atlas launch vehicle (which themselves
were modified ICBMs).
