What kind of Teletype did it come with? Being a minimal 8/L it has to be an
ASR model. But did it come with a Model 33 (rinky dink plastic one everyone

built like a medium tank... While weighing as much)?
Just a standard ASR-33.

recommendations; I'm
going to start with something minimal like WD-40 and move
on to more
powerful options if need be.
Have you ever restored a Teletype? If not, one piece of advice whixh will
save you many, many tears: Keep that can of WD-40 far, far away from the
Teletype. The stuff will gunk up in quite a "lovely" manner, making your
life several new forms of hell.
Yep, was not planning on using the WD-40 on the Teletype :). I've done
some tinkering on one before, but no actual restoration work, however
I've done a bit of maintenance on typewriters in the past. Everything
seems to be in order; after giving the works a visual inspection I fired
it up and it appears to work fine. Of course, it'll need a complete
going over before I put it to actual use.

P.S. Excuse any and all typos, as I'm writing this on my PlayBook, and...
well to say I yearn for my Model M is an understatement.
Probably still better than the keyboard on the ASR-33...
