The Integral PC! Tell him I'll give him $10 for it :-) It is 68K-based
and has a small subset of HP-UX in ROM, but it really wants to boot from a
disk hanging off its HPIB bus.
The HP OmniBook 300 I mentioned not only had DOS/Windows in ROM, but a
bunch of Microsoft apps as well (Word, Excel, etc). Microsoft built
special XIP versions for HP, but Windows was too dumb to handle XIP ROM
programs and virtual memory at the same time, so you were limited to
"standard mode" (286 mode).
Of course, these days, Windows CE devices have just about everything in
ROM, can handle XIP and an MMU, and have no floppies.
