I must admit that I use Gmail as my mail interface, mainly for its
archive and search capabilities. ?One problem with Gmail is that I
often don't notice when I'm sending formatted html rather than plain
text.
But my mail actually goes to a linux machine and through a
challenge/response spam filter that I wrote myself, then a copy is
archived locally in addition to being forwarded to Gmail. On the
linux machine I use mutt for reading mail. Apparently I'm about the
last person on campus who still runs a non-dedicated mail server.
The whole campus is moving to Gmail in the near future. Don't know
what that means for my spam filter.
