In fairness, the smoke is most likely coming from a burning resistor in
the power
supply (I have had this
happen in several O1 computers in the past) and is a
$.30 5-minute repair.

I would check the capacitors in the power supply. There's a good
chance that one of them is beginning to short out and is drawing excessive
current from the power supply and that is causing the current limiting
resistor to overheat.
