Does it run under Linux as well? Or is the core functionality encapsuled
platform independent? Or do I have to make a Linux version?
I wrote this with
Linux in mind, in fact. I wrote this entirely in C, and
it compiles under gcc for both Mac OS X and Cygwin. I don't have a native
DOS/Windows version, and I don't intend to support one at this time.
So rest assured, everyone: it will is supported on Linux, Mac OS X and
Windows under Cygwin.
A Windows command line version can be had by distributing the Cygwin executable
and the
necessary Cygwin DLLs located in the same directory. Then you can run it from a
regular
windows command window as a command line application. No need to install Cygwin.
That being said, Cygwin is so easy to install, and so useful, that I don't see
why anyone in
this group would ~not~ have it on their windows box.
BTW I have a couple of PDP-8m systems with only floppy (and extra serial cards!)
so I
am ready for beta testing any time ...
