There is definitely a media recogition system on 4mm carts that stops
you using them in the wrong sorts of drive; and indicates capacity
etc. Stick a 120M cart in a drive that can't cope and it just spits
it out again.. I've never seen an audio cart used in a data drive,
and we had a lot of customers using them.. (I was also very
disappointed with their general reliability.)
