I?m not sure that powering up systems ?just
in case? is actually productive.$
On the other hand, I've seen plenty of comments here and on similar
lists about things like carefully re-forming the filter caps in large
power supplies if they haven't been on for a while. Powering them up
far/often enough to keep that from needing doing might be worthwhile in
some cases.
Of course, it may not be worth the toll it takes on other parts.
Nothing really substitutes for knowing the machine you have and
applying some thought - but that's true anyway....
