Folks,
Can any one tell me whats in a "PDP-8" Straight 8. So how many
logic boards, logic gates, transistors and diodes? Does any one also
have the CPU speed. Its just there is one in
www.mosi.org.uk next to
a Ferranti Pegasus. I would like to be able to compare it with the
Pegasus to show how things moved on in the nine years between the
two machines. The poor PDP-8 is much neglected as its much smaller
and less impressive than the Pegasus, yet I am pretty sure it was
faster, cheaper and much more capable.

Interesting, I guess thats pretty comparable with the Pegasus which has
something like 550 cards with 1500 valves.
No idea how many point contact diodes....
On the hand the PDP-8 would I think be much faster. The Pegaus is a
39-bit serial machine with a 330 Khz clock giving an add time of 128
Microseconds
