Why? The pink ones work as well.
The pink bags actually aren't as conductive as the metalized mylar
bags and are not rated for the same level of ESD protection. The pink
bags also break down chemically over time (which anyone who has
witnessed this also knows that they smell really, really bad when they
do this). On the other hand, the mylar bags last practically forever.
I had a empty, open metalized mylar bag marked "humidity sensitive
components". This bag sat untouched in a drawer for a number of years.
I was looking for some parts and noticed some liquid in the drawer,
Picking up the bag, it contained at least a pint of water. Desiccant
impregnated bag?
