Quick answer, not having read possible other replies:
Most semiconductor manufacturers supply samples free of charge, simple
by requesting them on their website. DS = Dallas Semi? That's maxim now,
so try maxim-ic.com. You have to give the right answers though: of
course you have a company and your product will probably sell 1000s. Right?
Otherwise: Farnell has ds1216s in several variations. Perhaps one you
can use.
