The XMOS XS1 can do it too with internal memory, and bit-bang the
ISA bus (uPD765 emulation) in another thread. Cheap microcontrollers
are amazing nowadays. I've got a bit-banging XS1 prototype and a
FDC37C78-based quicky prototype both built and apparently hardwarily
working but I'm driving myself crazy finishing up the firmware and BIOS.
My latest ISA motherboard reserves IRQ6 so the motherboard BIOS won't
work (need one that's configurable). Just as well, since 8" bootability
would be cute.
