I agree. MFM drives have dried up very quickly, and prices are
rising. The only place I can still find them cheaply is hamfests, where
people are still clueless about their value.

Does anyone know of any adaptors to fit a
"modern" drive (be it IDE,
SCSI, ATA, CompactFlash etc) into a machine with an ST-506/412
interface?
There are none right now. How much would you be willing to spend on
an assembled and tested board? There has been discussions on doing one
for years and I would guess it would be about $300 to make.
