That's very insightful. The x86 has a fantastic security record. I'd
certainly pick it immediately over some unproven, obscure technology
like VAX.
I had no idea that the VAX instruction set was inherently more secure
than x86. (Here I was thinking that it was software that was
responsible for security!) Care to explain?

However, I'd still have to be careful about choice of operating
system, judging by news headlines. I'd avoid OpenBSD, for sure!
