Aha! I was confusing MUD (Modified Unibus device) with Extended
Unibus. Extended Unibus provides 22-bit addressing and is only
present in the 11/24 and 11/44, in the memory slots of the processor
backplane (positions 9-12 AB of the 14-slot backplane).
