Chuck, I've not had many problems with Exabyte media. DAT on the
other hand has been problematic.
I just got a box of 8mm unix backups that weren't stored well. We'll
see how they do.
I've got a few of the beasts, mostly full-height, but my best luck to
date has been using the cheapie 8700--the top-loading unit with the
external power brick (reminds me of the first Sony CD-ROM decks).
I don't know why.
