No, not really. WTH is an Alpha-Syntauri?
Ok, fair enough... (for those who are curious, and its on topic as it
would be well over 10 years old)
The 'Alpha-Synaturi' is an Apple ][ based keyboard synthesizer system. It
is comprised of a two-board, sixteen voice digital synthesizer that was
made by Mountain Computer (nee: Mountain Computer), a three or four octave
organ style keyboard and interface card, and software.
It was quite impressive for the time, and offered real-time playing,
recording, and playback, and no doubt some other features that slipped my
mind at the moment.
A couple of music tutorial packages were offered as well.
One of it's most endearing (to me at least) qualities, was the 'Close
Encounters' style graphic display it would show on the monitor while it
was playing (or being played).
Sadly, it quickly fell by the wayside with the introduction of MIDI
capable synthesizers...
Yet another of those gaps in the collection that I'd like to fill.
Actually, I sold Alpha-Syntauris once upon a time... Now feeling like a
fool (yet again) for finally selling off my demo unit when I moved along
to other things...
