The 98041A interface was used to allow the 9845 to interface to the
following drives (this list may not be exhaustive) --
7905, 7906, 7920, 7925 and the 7970E Option 826 Tape drive.
You need to have the Mass Storage ROM in the 9845 to use any of them.
HPIB drives (eg the 9895) used the 98034 interface.

yeap. It's for the 9845. I have one but I've never tried to hook it up
and I'm not sure what drives it works with.

BTW I've been meaning to write you but I've been BUSY. I picked up
several of the 7970E tape drives. They all say 45 IPS inside and all but
one are marked "option 052/151", the other one is marked "option
183". It
was one of a pair that was mounted in one cabinent and run off of a single
set of controller cards with some jumper cables connecting the two drives.
