Unfortunately, I do not have any insight as to whether
the relatively
inexpensive electrolytics can be used, or whether the expensive oil-filled
caps are needed.
"Normal" electrolytics (as in inexpesive filter caps) probably will not
work well at all. They probably would not last long, anyway.
