The really annoying thing about BGA is that I haven't figured a way to
desolder and reuse chips. Very vexing.

Just take it outside, and hit the back side of the board with a torch. :-)
For those boards where they didn't bend pins over, stuff just falls right out
if you do this right. A bit too long on one spot and the board catches fire,
which is when you find out why I said take it outside. Those fumes are no
fun at all.
