[1] OT; actually the platen knob from an old Smith-Corona typewriter.
You might want to give a try to one of the epoxies made for plastic
bonding, such as Loctite 1363118 Epoxy Plastic Bonder. It claims to
bond even the tough plastics, such as nylon.
