Also, there is no MMU from Motorola for the 68000, so
you would have to
design your own.
What about the 68451?
Sigh. I should learn to check things better. I thought it only was
usable with the 68010, but apparently you could also use it with the
68000. My fault.
AFAIK the 68000 and 68010 hardware interfaces are much the same, the big
difference between the 2 processors is what is saved on an exception (as we
have been discussing here). And there is no reason why that would affect an
MMU.
The 68451 is not a common chip, though. Most people using the 68000/68010
did indeed make their own MMUs. The machine I think of for the 68451 is the
Torch XXX which puts it alongside a 68010 (and a 68450 DMA chip).
