If you're just going to run a modern NetBSD, why on earth would you bother
running it on slow, memory-constrained hardware from the 80's?
I agree. My main interest is in VAX systems, and for me, it's going to
be either VMS
or 4.3BSD Quasijarus. Speaking of which, I've noticed Michael Sokolov
doesn't post here
anymore. Anyone know what happened?
I tried NetBSD 1.6.1 on a uVAX 3100 years ago, and it wasn't what I'd
call usable.
OpenVMS 7.1, however, made it a lot nicer. Enough that I used that
same machine as
an internal DNS server for my home network for a number of years.
Interesting that
such a new VMS would be so usable.
Right now, my goal is to set up a VAXstation with DECWindows as my
main work machine,
as I can export my display to it from the Linux machines on which I do
my day-to-day
work activities (mostly MUMPS programming on GT.M).
