I honestly can't remember, but I don't think it matters.
I think a CD will always use 2048 byte sectors (although there are some
oddball
modes so maybe there are other sizes near that 2048).
VAXes (and at least some Sun systems too IIRC) expected the attached CD
drive to deliver
512 byte sectors, to match disks of the era. The CD discs themselves
were exactly the same
as any other CD.
