My ISP still offers free USENET access, but when they outsourced their
USENET server "x" years ago, they went with an outfit that doesn't carry
vmsnet.*. :-(
Actually come to think of it my "ISP" is no longer my ISP, but rather a
company I pay for Shell, email, USENET, and light web hosting. My ISP is
now Verizon, and I doubt they offer USENET.
