If you want to add to the request list, that is fine.
Well, if there's ever an "anything in northern MN" list then I'd be
interested, of course - I can always work with others on classiccmp to try
and find a home for things that don't particularly interest me.
Generally I tell people that if it's something obviously built prior to the
late 80's then it's likely to be of interest and worth saving; newer than
that and it's difficult to define the good from the bad in any useful way.
Of course anything that's obviously "a computer, but not a plain old PC" is
fair game, which might help catch a few SGIs, Suns etc.
Is there any useful rule as to what kind of value to place on things that
puts it far enough above scrap to make it worthwhile for recyclers to save?
I assume that metal content is more important than plastics, but I have no
clue what a Commodore 64 (at the low end) or a big tape cabinet (at the
higher end) might be worth as scrap.
cheers
