The Intel 440BX/GX chipsets were the last ones that I'm aware of to
fully support ISA devices, including those that use legacy DMA.
My experience with later Intel chipsets, such as the 820 that employ
a bridge chip such as the National PC87200 seldom support ISA DMA or
do so with "gotchas".
So it's a good idea not to toss that PII motherboard if you want to
use DMA-oriented ISA devices.
