Massbus disks the only

That's correct, but then, you'd expect that, right?
RSX-20F, the version of RSX-11M that ran on the front end of a KL-10
(an 11/40), was pretty much stock for an unmapped system, but the
device handlers have a switch in the code which makes it use 18-bit
rather than 16-bit media. That way, the front end file system can
live on the same disk as the -10 boots from.
