That's easy to check ... if so: check the plug for dirt (bad contact) and
check the cable for a broken wire inside ...
I've also seen the contacts in the female connectors with the wires
pushed up and to the side a little bit, and stuck there. Make sure
they're all sprung down into the appropriate positions.

If they are corroded then worst case use a q-tip, better to use a video
cleaning swab with some caig de-oxit.
