Well, not only that, but think of the costs involved keeping that data
online and accessible, we're talking terabytes...

sucks majorly. Wired a couple issues ago had a top 100 ideas
kinda article, and one of them was for eBay to keep the listings up past
30 days. Such an unfriendly company...
Lots go away after 30 days for a good reason - it cuts down eBay's
liability. The company is a middleman, and as soon as they can wash their
hands of a deal, the better.
